We aim to bring different generations together through intergenerational volunteering. Our Organisation targets school children aged 15 - 18 who want to help volunteer their time within care homes in their local community.
There are nine million lonely people in the UK, and four million of them are older adults. Many older people find constant loneliness hardest to overcome. They lack the friendship and support we all need.
At Brunch & Brew, we're here to change that. Volunteer your time fortnightly/monthly as we host afternoon tea on every other Sunday in care homes in areas of deprivation in Belfast.
Loneliness & social isolation amongst senior citizens is higher than ever within the UK:
chronically lonely old people within the UK
older people in the UK say that their TV is their main company
go a month or more without talking to a friend, neighbour or family member
older people say they often feel invisible or ignored
To help solve both the major crisis with loneliness amongst the elderly.
In Brunch & Brew we ensure everyone in the community feels welcomed and in a safe space. What better way to do this than by sharing food and stories.
Intergenerational relationships provide you with possible role models that will both motivate and encourage you to fulfil your potential.
Relax and enjoy the kindly donated food from fresh sandwiches, scones with clotted cream & jam, sweet pastries & cake. Also choose from a wide selection of luxury tea blends.
